The owner of "Vicki's Pond" wanted something with "hidden critters" for her Grandson. Little boys like the reptiles and snacks and spiders and such but I threw the book at this sketch on Mixed Media Paper.

What Brought About this Artwork?
This was a fun picture to do - and definitely a change of pace for me. Usually, I'm painting away in acrylics and with paint brushes on a stretched canvas. Do you remember the old kid's magazine called Highlights? They used to always have a Hidden Picture illustration where you would have to find all the items all through the drawing. This is sort of the thought behind this picture.

Update: Monday, February 26, 2024. This is the best verification that the shipment of "Find the Critters" and "Vicki's Pond" have arrived! Oh, the feeling of relief when you wrap and box your artwork, hand it off to the postal service, then await confirmation that is has arrived safe and sound. Then the rush of joy when your client has received their artwork and shows it off. And of course, that they love what you have created and picked YOU, to create the artwork for them.
