Post 456: Art Reception at the ARTfactory July 11, 2026

Art Reception at the ARTfactory July 11, 2026

My art group, called the Prince William Art Society (PWAS), had our Nostalgia Art Show art reception at the ARTfactory in Manassas on Saturday, July 11, 2026. We had a GREAT turn out! It was great to see, my fellow artists and all of the outstanding art!

The ARTfactory 9419 Battle Street, Manassas, VA - right across the railroad tracks in front of the Manassas Train Station. Parking is available in the parking garage directly across the street.

Nostalgia Art Show

The show runs from July 10 to August 9, 2026 so please go see this show! Lots of fantastic artworks on display and take the time to read the story of each artwork - sometimes the nostalgia theme is very obvious - and perhaps for you too. Some art is the artist's explanation on why their work is based in nostalgia for them and their lives.

The participating PWAS Member Artists on Display:
Danielle Bancroft, Fatima Batool, Zee Berrios, Staci Blanchard, Larry Burch, Evelyn Chatters, Doreen Dauer, Katie Keller Dugan, Scott Elliott, Michelle Evans, Nicole M Fisher, Kathleen Gates, Sheri Herrick, Lizzy B. Javier, Absku KOY, Sandra Lewin, Donna Liguria, April Mckether, Mark Murphy, Katharine Owens, L Palladino, Tom Payne, Mandy Powell, Tinnetta Putney, and Bettie Sperty

What a great job everyone!

Post 452: Nostalgia Art Show at the ARTfactory July 10 - August 9, 2026

Nostalgia Art Show at the ARTfactory July 10 - August 9, 2026

Coming up in July is the Nostalgia Art Show from the Prince William Art Society showing at the ARTfactory in Manassas, Virginia. Twenty-five PWAS artists, including 2 of my pieces will be showing and this promises to be a wonderful show exploring your memories of those nostalgic, whimsical people, places, things, sights and sounds of days gone by.

ARTfactory "Nostalgia" Art Show

The ARTfactory at 9419 Battle Street, Manassas, VA is a wonderful place to show your art! This Nostalgia show should be wonderful, so mark your calendar - the show opens July 10 with the art reception with many of the artists attending on Saturday, July 11 from 6-9 and the show will run until August 9th.

The ARTfactory is right across from the Manassas Train Station and the free public parking garage at 9419 Battle Street, Manassas, VA. I'll have 2 pieces in this Nostalgia show...

"I Dream of Ice Cream When I Hear the Music" by Donna Liguria is a nod to growing up in an area where ice cream can be delivered almost at your front door. As a kid, I remember that music with the promise of a sweet frozen treat (if parent permission was granted)! The painting is 11x14x1.5 acrylic on stretched canvas.

"East Coast Sunrise" by Donna Liguria remembers the first time going to the eastern shore to see the ocean and its intense impact when confronted with the ocean laid out in front of myself as a human. How small I am and how large, how mysterious, how dangerous, how beautiful it all is. The land is extraordinary in itself. All of that water that extends beyond the horizon and deeper than we can see, it is astounding. The painting is 20x20x1.5and is acrylic on stretched canvas.

Come on by and see us!

Post 442: Preparation of Paintings for the Nostalgia Show

Preparation of Paintings for the Nostalgia Show

The Prince William Art Society (PWAS) will have an art show this summer at the ARTfactory in Manassas, Virginia with the theme of Nostalgia. What a great thought for a theme! And much thought went into the paintings to submit to this show.

Painting Name: I Dream of Ice Cream When I Hear the Music

Growing up in the suburbs as a kid, during those hot summer evenings while out playing, the tinkling of music was heard which announced the soon to arrive ice cream man. All of the children would all rush to their homes, calling out to their own moms if we could get ice cream. If yes, the coinage or the allowances were pillaged or dispensed, then the rush to get in line and make our selection had to be made. The fond memory of ice cream delivered is an ongoing memory ongoing to this day.

Painting Name: A Vintage Christmas Morning

Christmas morning as a child, what is more Nostalgic than that? I remember the wonder and excitement of Christmas morning and the mad bolt down the stairs to see what Santa Claus brought. Such wonderful memories of Mom and Dad, and my 2 brothers, and the gift wrapping everywhere. The silver tinsel tree with the blue ornaments, that fancy color changing wheel, bicycles, Etch-a-Sketch, Mr Potato Head, Gumby and Pokey, Barbie and Midge, Easy Bake Oven, and presents and presents to tear up.

This was so much fun to paint.
