What Brought About this Painting?

Time for a Wine Party isn't it? Time for some friends to get together and get caught up on our lives and be off Zoom and actually TALK and SEE each other again.

I tweaked this painting several times - I was not happy with the background as I had it previously. Check the "Painting in Progress: Wine Party" post and let me know what you think too.

Saturday, May 22, 2021 7:55 PM Done tweaking, no more changes. Next steps are dry completely, spray varnish, the hardware, signature on the back and MAYBE a frame.

What would you name this Painting? Leave your comments! - I considered Sangria something...Friends Gathering, Time for Freedom with Friends AGAIN!

What brought around this painting? The upcoming theme for the PWAS (Prince William Art Society) at Clearbrook Center for the Arts theme in July-August 2021 is Flora, Fauna and/or Gatherings and what says "Gatherings" better than having a few friends over (finally!!) and getting caught up over some wine, sangria and/or drinks?

Thursday, May 20, 2021 7:15 PM: I think I'm having trouble with draped fabric in the background...not sure what I'm going to do about that.

I was contacted by Jerry's Artarama https://www.facebook.com/JerrysArtarama today - I had listened to their Tuesday Live Art Event: Jerry’s LIVE Episode #JL195: Rembrandt Watercolor “Special Effects Colors” given by Royal Talens Art Education Director Jeff Olson.

He covered the history of watercolors and used these very awesome watercolors that were spectacular - golds and pearl and iridescent and chameleon - they were so pretty! And depending on if you used regular white watercolor paper or a black watercolor paper - there was quite a difference on how those watercolors blossomed!

At the end, they had a give away of the wonderful watercolor Rembrandt Watercolor Half-Pan Specialty Colors Tin Set Of 12...

And I won!
