Post 79: Mercury Glass Flower Arrangement Still Life 16x20 Acrylic

Painting Name: Mercury Glass Flower Arrangement

I like this painting. I picture it in a living room with grays and blues and neutral colors.

SKU: 02AJ21AC
Medium: Acrylic
Size: 16x20 Stretched Canvas
Price: $278.00 plus shipping
Framed?: No (but may update this)
Edition Year: 2021
Commissioned? No

What Brought About this Painting?
I painted a similar background for a floral painting a couple of weeks ago but wanted to do something different this go around. This flower arrangement still life centers with the mercury glass vase which is highlighted with silver and iridescent paint.

The flower arrangement has sort of a beige - pink, champagne roses, blue and purple hydrangeas, and some white lilies.

This painting was finished with a matte varnish - meaning there is not a "shiny" look to the canvas other than the metallic silver and iridescent paint used on the vase area.

What should this painting be? Any suggestions? Leave your comments!

In preparing the canvases for painting, from layers of gesso to the first layer of paint, sometimes I will go ahead and give a basecoat to another canvas at the same time. While I was starting "Hydrangeas Over a Rock Wall", I went ahead and did another black and grey split color background similar to the "Large Red and Gold Flower in a Black - White Background" I did a week or so ago.

I'm considering another flower, a large bloom like a sunflower, rose, hibiscus, etc. Would you like to see anything in particular?

Suggestions are welcome!

March 2, 2021 1:50 pm - I was working on a side project the last few days along with actually wiring all my paintings so they can be hung. In the back of my mind was this background painting and what should be in its foreground. I finally came up with a plan and got it started today.

Also of note, I went to PWAS (Prince William Art Society) Art Show this past Sunday and am thinking to join the local art group - hence the very need to having the paintings ready for hanging too! https://www.princewilliamartsociety.com/
