The magic of Harkers Island, North Carolina at sunset. Harkers Island is a part of the Crystal Coast which is the southern-most part of the Outer Banks. The Harkers Island Visitor Center is located on the eastern end of the island, along with the Core Sound Waterfowl Museum and Heritage Center.

Thursday, July 13, 2023 4:10pm started this painting yesterday and its slow going. I took this picture (below) when I was visiting friends at Harkers Island in May 2023 and its the idea behind this painting.

Sunday, July 16, 2023 10:11am Birds. Ducks. Flight. Something is ALWAYS flying by on Harkers Island. Sometimes walking, often waddling. Occasionally diving or swimming by that breaks the surface of the water. If you're lucky, maybe you can catch the mermaids lounging on your dock, taking in the sunset. The birds will be flying in next on the painting.
Saturday, July 29, 2023 10:36am I was just at Harkers Island and got back Thursday, July 27 after spending a wonderful time with friends. I took many pictures - reference photos for a lot of ideas for more paintings. The finished painting, Harkers Island Magic
