Post 235: Bolt of Light

As per often in my blog posts for paintings, I start with the "in progress" photos, which often are pretty blah. Gradually the painting starts to take shape and the final is often found at the bottom unless I do the completion in a totally different post and the first post states "In Progress". What Brought About this Painting?

Sometimes you paint something just for the challenge of it. To make life slightly easier for a dark painting, you do start with a black canvas. But golly, layers and layers of blue, purple, gray, black, white...trying to think what else I can throw at this thing.

Getting there but not happy yet. I have to be happy with where a painting is before I put the brush down on it. The waves in the water, close I think. Sky, nope - I'm not happy yet.
