A bit of a pause in painting the last few days - I've been helping a friend move. I LOVED the house they had in Clifton, but it was sold on the first day it was on the market! I suppose someone else will now love that house.

Anyway, in a pause from packing, we took a break at my most favorite restaurant that I have found in Northern Virginia thus far - Trattoria Villagio in Clifton, Virginia. EVERYTHING about them is first class in my book! And we ate outside on February 4, 2021 - repeat, FEB 4 eat outside? Yes. Between the fireplace and those outdoor heaters, we were happy campers.

Covid Igloos and wall built around tables for private dining outdoors on their patio. We had the shrimp appetizer and split a steak panini, glass of red - I could eat there every day. Note: ice on the surfaces...

Painting in Progress: pupils help to not look like a dead owl.

Bigger pupils, that's what he needed, and don't say "who". Its all about layer building. I envy those painters that can swipe, swipe, swipe and they are done. That isn't how I can paint.

2/7/2021 8:45 AM Snowy day; its coming down at a good clip here on this Super Bowl Sunday.

10:30 AM Subtle but needed changes...

Post 18: The Owl Takeoff, 10 x 20 Acrylic on Canvas

Painting Name: The Owl Takeoff

SKU: #10S20AC
Medium: Acrylic Painting
Size: 10 x 20 Stretched Canvas
Price: No Longer Available
Edition Year: 2020
An Owl painting, more specifically a Great Horned Owl just taking off from his perch. Vibrant colors pop out at you - if animal paintings, bird artwork appeals to you, this hoot owl would look great in a living room, foyer, dorm, library or office.

Who? The Owl? Who? The one that just took off? Who? This one...

"Bir... Bir-dah. Bird, bird, bird." Ok that's a line from a movie. Know which one?

The wise old owl, the slowly blinking eyes, imagine this guy getting a bead on your position and coming in to get you. Unlucky if you are a mouse or other small varmint.

By the way, the line is from "Bambi" when Thumper is trying to teach Bambi to say "Bird".
Nothing to do with Owls but I thought of it while painting The Owl Takeoff.
