What Brought About this Painting?

I painted a couple of golf ball paintings last year, and they sold, thankfully. So I'm going into 2022 with another golf ball painting at the edge of the hole, called "So Close".

What Brought About this Painting?

What Brought About this Painting?

Actually it was the trying to NOT use the color black in a painting at all. Clouds made the perfect subject. Sure there are gray clouds which make you think to blend black and white, but that is not how I painted them.

I used blue, purple, white, yellow, red, and burnt sienna.

What do you think so far? A long way to go as yet though.

If you look up what the most popular themed paintings are, guess what you will find? Traditional landscapes seem to top the list although local scenes seems to trend better.

What Brought About this Painting?

Sometimes you paint something just for the challenge of it. To make life slightly easier for a dark painting, you do start with a black canvas. But golly, layers and layers of blue, purple, gray, black, white...trying to think what else I can throw at this thing.
