Ladybug, Ladybug, Fly Away Home

Do you remember the childhood chant, sing-song: 

Ladybug, Ladybug, fly away home, 

Your house is on fire

And your children are gone?

A weird little ditty really. It was just a thing you said to encourage the cute little beetle with the polka dots to move along when they land on you to "shoo-away". Seems it was considered bad luck to swat at ladybugs. Anyway, ladybugs always did seem to be such "friendly, wee bugs" as opposed to some other types of insects.

What Brought About this Painting?

In December 2021, I had a family member say that he would like to see something similar to this mini painting I did right after Christmas.

So, then I started this painting in January 2022 and here is the 11x14 in progress:

This has been fun to paint. Trying to think what all could be found around a shipwreck and what all was described in December to include. Sharks, check, pirate ship wreck, check. Treasure chest, absolutely! But I am not done YET...

Thursday, December 30, 2021 10:06 PM and here is what I have so far. I just applied the Golden Acrylic Glass Bead Gel in the sand so let's see how it looks in the AM.
