The habitat must be setup first...Although I don't always necessarily follow the rules, the background comes first. I look at whatever is farthest away, paint it first. If you are painting a landscape with a sun, you paint the sun first then fill in the sky, then the clouds.

Things change at times. At first I thought on the right side foreground, there would be a rock there. Changed my mind.
